Practice

Washika Wachira has 15 years’ experience in legal practice and 8 years’ experience as a magistrate. Her general area of practice includes Criminal law, civil procedure law, Family law, children law, commercial law, constitutional law, Succession law, Human rights law, International Humanitarian Law, law of Contract and Refugee law. Her specialty is in criminal law and Mediation. Where criminal law, entails, issue of bond/bail, representation of clients in court and criminal appeals.

She is also a Court Annex accredited Mediator and provides Mediation services as an alternative dispute resolution mechanism to litigation.

 

Experience

Washika Wachira has previously served as a Senior Resident Magistrate for the Kenyan Judicial Service Commission, is a Litigating Counsel and accredited as a Court Annex Mediator. She is also a member of the Law Society of Kenya, FIDA, Moi University Alumnae Association (MUAA), Kenya Ex-Participants of Japan Alumnae Association (KEJAA) and Japan Ex-Participants of Kenya (JEPAK). Previously she worked as a legal researcher officer and a volunteer advocate at the Christian Legal Education Aid and Research (CLEAR) and Kenya Christian Lawyers Fellowship
